Good day!

We hope you are having a happy and healthy year, as we share the spring edition of Research in Motion, a newsletter highlighting accomplishments in our profession and connecting the SHAPE America community in scholarship to foster quality practice in health, physical education, physical activity, dance, and sport.

This past month, SHAPE America held the in Baltimore, from April 1-5. The Research Council supported 109 research presentations in the form of eight oral sessions, four poster sessions, two roundtables, and five symposia. There were also 20 posters presented at the Works in Progress session, a Graduate Student Forum, and two Coffee Talk sessions.

Three scholar lectures were given (named for C.H. McCloy, Raymond A. Weiss, and Daryl Siedentop), three Special Interest Group lectures were presented, three Research Fellows were inducted, and the recipient of the Distinguished Service Award was announced. Two recipients (graduate student and early career investigator) of the Thomas McKenzie Research Grant were presented. All these accomplishments were celebrated at our Research Council Social attended by over 50 members of SHAPE America research community!
