Volunteer at Convention

We’re looking for enthusiastic volunteers to assist at #SHAPEBaltimore! To pull off an event of this magnitude, it’s all hands on deck — and each year, more than 100 volunteers are needed to support our convention’s success.

Why Volunteer?

Volunteering is a great opportunity to meet and network with other attendees. PLUS, #SHAPEBaltimore volunteers get perks!

In exchange for serving six (6) volunteer hours before, during and/or after the event (during self-selected timeslots/volunteer opportunities from March 31 through April 5, 2025), individuals selected as volunteers will receive:

  • $150 off Professional registration or $120 off Student registration*;
  • A free #SHAPEBaltimore volunteer T-shirt;
  • $10 merchandise voucher to use at the SHAPE America exhibit booth; and
  • A complimentary drink ticket for the Opening Celebration.

*Individuals selected as volunteers will be provided with a promo code to be used during the registration process to discount the cost of registration to the appropriate amount.

Volunteer Roles Include:

  • Monitoring session rooms: Greeting speakers, ensuring AV/equipment is set, reporting any issues to SHAPE America staff, and providing an estimated attendance for assigned rooms/sessions.
  • Managing activity equipment: Organizing, delivering and retrieving activity equipment for all activity sessions.
  • Preparing materials for attendees: Stuffing attendee bags with inserts, ensuring all handouts are dropped on seats at major events like the Opening General Session and Closing General Session, lectures, etc.
  • Welcoming attendees and assisting with registration crowd management: Greeting attendees as they enter the facility and directing them to the appropriate registration booth and/or the Attendee Hub.
  • Assisting exhibitors with their demos: Greeting exhibitors and assisting them with setup/dismantling of their demos in the exhibit hall at the scheduled time.

Volunteer applications are now closed. Thank you for your interest!

All participants will receive follow-up regardless of selection status. We select volunteers on a rolling basis, with the notification process beginning on November 15.

While we appreciate everyone's interest in helping to ensure the success of #SHAPEBaltimore, priority will be given to college and university students, teachers at Title I schools, and first-time attendees.
